So - my plan is to finally post a lot of recs from all the fanfiction I've read. It's mainly Sherlock, Harry Potter and Merlin. I'm a big fan of Johnlock and Merthur, also Severitus, Snarry, Drarry and Mystrade fics, but I read stuff in between, too.

Also I managed to discover the miracle that is cross-posting and will so (if the internet works in my favor) be able to feed my lj account and my dreamwidth account at the same time.

In general I'll post fics written by me (sparse and in between), but mostly recs or rec lists. Haven't quite figured it out yet. I'll try to tag everything with the greatest care to make navigation as easy as possible. My own works will be tagged accordingly so you can avoid them if you wish. I also draw sometimes, so you might see some of that, too.

Anyway, I hope some may stumble upon this and find it useful :).

Title: Snape's Secret
Fandom: Harry Potter
Rating: PG
Words: 757
Summary: One day, Harry asks his newly appointed guardian what we always have wondered - how exactly does Snape manage to always make his robes billow just as he wants them to?
Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognize - all of the characters belong to J.K. Rowling
Side Note:
I already posted this on lj ages ago, but it's the only fic I've ever written and finished and been a little proud of, so I decided to post it here also. Just in case somebody comes along and would like to read it.

Read this on ao3, ff.net, potionsandsnitches or livejournal.

Snape's Secret )
kiromenanz: (Default)
 Words: 10,8k

Warnings: AU, EWE

Summary: Based on this prompt: "It turns out wizarding owls don't hatch already knowing how to deliver the post but have to be trained for it. Either only Harry's (or Severus's) magic is up to the task in Britain (or wherever you think fits best for the story) or it's his own choice of career. The other one's owl is behaving erratically."

The most amazing story about how Harry stopped Snape's owls from exploding and caught himself a retired Potions Master in the process.

side note: I recced this on lj ages ago and thought I should bring this journal up to speed before I start reccing different things. As I'm in a Sherlock phase right now, this Harry Potter rec will probably be the only one for a while.

Words: About 15k (it's a little of a guess, to be honest, but it should give you a general idea of the fic length)
Warnings: None
Genre: Romance
Summary: In a rare moment of kindness, Millicent Bulstrode pretends to be Percy Weasley's girlfriend to save him from ridicule from his brothers. Not only does she startle him quite a bit with that spontaneous decision, she also starts something that would evolve into more than either of them would have anticipated. Soon Percy becomes a fixture in her life and Millicent starts falling for him.

(I apologize for the crappy summary, it has been a while since I have read this, but I tried to sum it up to the best of my abilities.)
Anyway, a wonderful fic about one of the most unlikely pairings - I would never have thought of putting Percy and Millicent together, but somehow the author makes it work. Also, you really like Millicent in this story although she is anything but nice.
Oh and Percy's relationship with his family! I got so angry at them sometimes and loved Millicent's interventions.
All in all a wonderful read.

Genre: Gen, Friendship,
Summary: Written for this prompt at the kinkmeme: So, in Two Weeks Notice there is a scene where he and Sandra Bullock are having lunch at a restaurant and they go through this little ritual of picking the bits that they don't like out of each other's salads. They do it without thinking, like they've done it so many times before they don't even notice.

I'd like to see this scene, or something like it, with either John & Sherlock or Lestrade & Mycroft. Even if it's not an established "romantic" relationship - just something that's so ridiculously couply that they do without even batting an eye.

Basically, that's it - John and Sherlock picking things from each other's plates/sandwiches/whatever. But it is completely adorable and if you were so inclined, you could read it either as a close friendship or as slash, whatever suits you. It's really short, so easy to read in between longer fics or while you are waiting for the bus or at the doctor or wherever you are.

Words: 4,5k
Warnings: None
Rating: M
Genre: romance, humour
Pairing: Sherlock/John, Mycroft/Lestrade
Summary: In which Lestrade and the Yarders secretly write Real Person Fic about the world's only consulting detective and his flatmate, everyone questions their sexuality, and it turns out to be entirely possible to ship your own pairing.

Entirely compromised of fanfiction summaries, comments on said fanfictions and emails, this is delicious. The pennames of all of our favorite characters are spot-on and you can easily figure out who is who. This is extremely amusing and utterly sweet, not to mention hot (Mycroft and Lestrade! Those two - I don't want to give anything away but someone is enthusiastic ^^).
Not too long, easy to read but entirely worth it.

Words: 10k
Warnings: None

Summary: Molly Hooper adores the name on her life line even before she can read it. It’s written in a beautiful cursive, loops and curves flowing freely into what she sees as a work of art. She’s immensely proud to carry it on her skin, and she shows it with a smile to all of her friends in kindergarten.
"My-croft?" one of the girls struggles to decipher it. "What kind of a name is that?"

The Heart on Your Wrist (by flawedamythyst)

(not technically a soulmates-fic, but I felt it fit the collection)

Words: 5,5k
Warnings: None
